Mark and Ted untie and begin to lower the elk head that Ted's hunter shot the previous day. They had quartered the elk after shooting it, and hung those quarters along with the head up in a tree to hopefully avoid scavengers for the night. We came back the next day with pack animals to retrieve it, following fresh grizzly tracks most of the way. For some reason the tracks trailed off before getting to the elk.
