Wednesday Takes a Sample. October 31, 2020. Rachel Norton, dressed as Wednesday from the Addams Family, is a biologist for Arkansas Game and Fish. She is also a friend of mine that was hosting a Halloween party. My husband had harvested a deer the day prior to the party, so she offered to grab a sample from it to test for Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) upon arriving at the get together. The sample is taken from the neck and sent to a lab for testing. This one came back negative, but the Ozarks are seeing a spread in CWD throughout the region.
